1540 Fractionated Non-Ablative Laser

A non-ablative laser is a resurfacing laser that creates small ‘holes’ in the skin. As part of the healing process the skin deposits more collagen and elastin. Because the skin has more collagen and elastin, it feels and appears tighter. Because this treatment is non-ablative, it have minimal downtime.

  • Our 1540 fractionated laser can improve the appearance of superficial wrinkles, acne scarring, pigment changes (ie melasma), pore size reduction/smoothening, and skin tightening/firming.

  • There is minimal downtime after an Icon 1540 laser resurfacing treatment. Most patients are able to resume their daily activities immediately post-treatment.

    Some patients may experience temporary redness, warmth, and/or swelling of the treated area for a few days. If the treatment area was on your face or an area visible to the public, you may experience a few days of social downtime, and we advise you to plan accordingly.  We advise limiting your exercise routine in the days following the treatment as well.

  • Depending on the condition being treated, a series of treatments may be recommended by your provider.

    General skin rejuvenation is often only one treatment, while scar removal and stretch mark removal may require 4 to 8 treatments.
